Growing up, my teenage years were filled with insecurities. At ages 13 and 14, I felt unnoticed. There were two main reasons: I looked much younger than my actual age and I was extremely skinny. Now, looking younger than my age is an advantage at 45, but it was a major disadvantage back then. It affected my confidence as I didn't see myself as a good-looking guy; it wasn't my image.
Things began to change around age 16 when I took up martial arts. The confidence it instilled in me was not just about fighting ability but also in the way I walked, my body language, and my overall posture. Martial arts taught me to hold my shoulders back and look people in the eye confidently. By 17, I noticed a complete shift. I started receiving compliments, particularly on the color of my eyes, and I realized I looked good. This newfound confidence changed everything.
Fast forward to my professional life, my career took off, and I was traveling constantly. I tried to compensate for my absence by spending quality time with my kids every weekend and ensuring my wife had time for herself. However, my work demands took a toll. In 2016, I moved to Dubai for work, leaving my family in Lebanon.
I realized the importance of balancing work and family life. Despite my professional success, my greatest achievement remains my children. I regret not spending more time with them during their formative years.
In my professional life, I have always prepared meticulously for meetings, especially with high-profile individuals like billionaires.
